What kind of computer does Gene Hunt have in Ashes to Ashes?

I wondered if it would be something like an IBM (it's definitely not a Spectrum!) The (UK) series is set in 1981.

1. It is probably an old 486, at best....
2. Amstrad? no idea but it seems a reasonable guess for a show set in the 80s
3. Sinclair Spectrum?
4. It did not look much like an IBM. If they were vaguely accurate, it would be more likely to be a mainframe terminal than a standalone PC - IBM PCs (086 or 088) were brand brand new, cutting edge and seriously expensive then. Best candidate if it was a personal computer, of some kind, would be an Apple II (looks about right from what I can remember from the program).
   
   
   
   In reality, I doubt he would have had a computer at all as I think the police had very limited use then - may be admin or finance but not solving crimes. This was the time of the Yorkshire ripper, an investigation hampered by having thousands of card index files of data but no data processing by computer to link it all together
