Why no snickometer being used for the Ashes?

It's amazing how quickly ones becomes accustomed to having the benefit of all the gadgetry and so I am finding the Ashes TV coverage on Sky a bit of a wind up as I still find myself waiting for snicko to confirm one way or another, every time there is a shout for a nick

1. its being used on channel 9 in australia. and the new hot spot camera. there just hasnt been the need for it in the last two days ! and if you were wondering, pieterson didnt snick that ball. snicko and hot spot confirmed that.
2. I thought host broadcasters NINE and Sky had the same pictures...
